Recognition for foreign companies

Similar bodies to the Chamber of Commerce abroad

An extract from the Chamber of Commerce is required for the issuance or change of a recognition. If a company is registered with a comparable foreign body as the Chamber of Commerce, an extract from this foreign body will also be accepted. This foreign extract must demonstrate the authority to sign. The following has been applied for the countries below:

  • Belgium
Extract from the register of the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises or Banque-Carrefour des Enterprises
  • Germany
Extract from the register of the Chamber of Commerce. In Germany it is not always possible to include the production location on the extract from the Handelskammer. In this case, in addition to the extract from the register of the Handelskammer, a Betriebekarteiauszug or Gewerbeanmeldung must be sent with the address of the production location.

Equivalence test

The Soil Quality Decree indicates that a certificate or accreditation is equated with a certificate or accreditation issued by a competent institution in another member state of the European Union. The condition for this is that at least an equivalent level of protection is offered. This also applies to foreign recognition.
If a company or institution from another Member State applies for recognition on the basis of Article 13, after consultation with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the Accreditation Council is requested to assess whether there is an equivalent level of protection. If that is the case, the company or institution can apply for recognition.
To have an equivalence test carried out or have questions about the procedure, you can contact the helpdesk.
